Ooh, but this dinner made me feel virtuous. Because it was a bowl of lentils and carrots, yes, but also because the roasting for it happened in conjunction with that for another soup. (Sarah Raven’s Roasted red pepper- third batch of the week. This soup is a keeper.) Shared oven time makes me feel like I am saving the planet, two recipes at a time. Unfortunately, I did not like the actual soup all that much, so I had to eat a pile of cheese slices for dessert.
The baby did approve, but mostly of the left-over fried fish she and her dad were sharing as a side. The husband had seconds, though, so there must have been something to love.
